Why is 4:3 aspect ratio still used?

You can have it all nowadays

What works for me (using the latest apsc 16mp sony sensor): It all depends on the putput you like. If eg you watch most of your shots/videos on the plasma/led screen, the easy jpeg 16x9 output is nicest. and for small prints a little crop is ok. For larger prints you undoubtely use raw and some pp. So for me shooting 16x9 jpeg AND raw is by far the easiest and most flexible.
