Someone mentioned 3rd party lens support. Well maybe not as much as the two big knobs but there are still plenty.

Pentax are great for legacy lenses where you can get true bargains and buy a crazy amount of them for the price of one modern lens. Although I now try to at least buy lenses with the 'A' setting so the K-30 can calculate exposure. I have 4 MF Pentax-A' lenses and they all work great. I simply couldn't afford to buy new modern equivalents with the same image quality so Pentax and the K-30 allows me to be a photographer on the cheap if you like.

A guy from my photography society found a Pentacon 2.8/135mm M42 lens in a charity shop for £2.50 or $4 yankee. He is very happy! I never see any lenses in charity shops.
