What is the RAW issue?

Same issue that X-E1 and X-Pro1 owners have been complaining about here for months: no major RAW processor properly supports X-Trans RAW files yet. Aperture outright won't open them, Lightroom smudges colour, Capture One has issues with moire and fringing, and Fuji's provided SilkyPix doesn't handle fringing so well and isn't particularly great at serious manipulation (it simply doesn't have the range of tools of something like Lightroom).

All based on my own experience. You'll hear countless conflicting opinions but the fact is this: unless you process your photos via the (admittedly quite good) in-camera RAW processor you will be compromising until RAW processors improve. You'll also lose the film simulations, but this is nothing new.

Would it be safe to assume that RAW processors will be able to handle the X-Trans RAW files in the near future?  If so, then it shouldn't be a concern if deciding to purchase the X100S.
