Wow that is the worst damage I have ever seen - so sorry that you have to deal with this. You must have thrown up a little bit upon seeing that laying on the ground. Happens to all of us at some point. Once my 20-35 fell off a cliff and was more or less destroyed -so  I feel for you.

I suspect its a total loss - the repair bill would probably be close to the cost of a new lens - plus god only knows how the lens would function afterwards.

Try to claim it on your homeowners if possible.
