We're there any times where you felt the camera came up short?

Not really. The camera (as body) was great all the way. If I could go back and change anything that would be some of the lenses. For places like this Ideally you want to have the best lenses. I would change my two zooms with the two new Panasonic X lenses perhaps although they are quite expensive.
