Hello everyone

Since I do a lot of travel, I'm looking for a "portable" full frame camera and a zoom lens.

I compared tons of camera, and I decided to go with nikon d600 body, but I'm having some trouble to pick the lens.

I love the zoom range that 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S lens has. However, lots of review is complaining the poor image quality this lens has, and saying this camera is overpriced

Is Nikon d600+24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S lens makes a relative good travel camera bundle?

Anyone has both give me some suggestion? Any sample pictures?

BTW, will 24-120mm f/4G 100% fits the d600 body?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, the 24-120 fits the D600.  The Nikkor 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 Vr is a very good lens.  And right now there are a lot around (like new) in the $300 to $350 range.  That is massive savings from the $1000-plus the 24-120 f/4 will run you.  Personally, I think the 24-120 is much overrated.  You'll lose the 86-120mm range (not so big a deal) but you'll gain in weight savings--the 24-85 is much lighter.  The 24-120 has the so-called "nano" coating, but the lens coating on the 24-85 is very good.
