Hey LaFonte

You certainly did read very well the publicity of the manufacturors, who indeed want us to believe that after 5 years, a camera is "old".

However, they are not. I'm sure, on a 13x19cm print, a new Micro 4/3 - camera won't look any better than my S5pro. However, you are right, they are less bulky, and it was about time manufacurors stopped to charge off their investments into mirror mechanics for film-based cameras (making us believe during a decade, that you need a mirror for a decent digital camera, which was of course a lie since the beginning, as this was only true for film - but we did not have an alternative).

The S3 and S5 still perform very decently. And if it is not for sports, the speed is really usable (using the right accessories).

But the main argument is: Where the heck can I connect all my good F-mount-lenses to the (indeed very tempting) X1-pro body...??? (Yeah, I mean, without loosing AF etc.).

You are talking to someone who uses a Nikon F5 and knows pretty well, what a good camera looks like, so don't believe its a guy who is just after saving money.

(btw: I still buy aud use (!) film cameras... and the Fujifilm GF670 aka Voigtländer Bessa III looks extremely tempting... I own a Makina 67 which is certainly just as nice, especially the lens, but the GF670 is just that little bit easier in terms of handling).

I do agree that S5 or S3 in print would give you as wonderful result as anything newer, I would be just more worried about the whole logic of using older, large and heavy camera for hobby. People complain about carrying modern DSLR with better specs, carrying older one doesn't make that task any more easier just less logical.

I know first hand how much more a small camera like x100 or rx100 gets usage in comparison to even the light dslrs.
