A kit lens does not come with a lens hood. You may find one that fits at Target or Best Buy or just go online to get one. You may find a nice rubber one so you don't have to remove it to shoot. It should help keep fingerprints off the lens.

When you buy a new lens from Nikon, it should come with a nice lens hood & a nice pouch to keep it in in between sessions. It may help somewhat keep it out of reach of little fingers.
