Got it! That does it, thank you everybody

Good

I just saw the detail that the s3 is being sold by a friend of yours.

In this case, I would give it a try before taking a decision. Image quality is nice, even better when shooting RAW with HyperUtility. I did lots of studio portrait/nude with the S3, and it needs a bit of patience, but image quality was always ok. Its just a bit annoying, when you and the model want to look at the pictures immediately, and you have to wait...

In any case, with the S3, use xd-picture-card (don't even try compactflash - its really rediculosely slow). xd-cards have less capacity, but they store much faster on the s3, especially the "Type H" (rare, but you can find it with a bit of patience). Given the low buffer size, a fast writing card is really crucial for getting a decent speed when shooting raw. I always had two cards: One for shooting, the second one in the meantime downloading to the computer. I used to store the backup xd-picture cards inside of the empty compactflash-slot.

I case you need xd-cards, let me know, I have a couple of spare ones I will eventually sell over e-Bay (Type-H 1GB if I remember well).

Write me to "urs [ a t ] gmx [d o t ] at " in case you are interested.

Say thanks, i appreciate that.  When you say S3 is slow, i would think that might be due to your studio work in a fast paced environment??  I am not a pro, just shoot family, friends and my kids, but my kids actualy LIKE to pose for me and they actually wait for me, which is nice

Basically i just want it for fun for portraits photos, not for a business and not to take fast action photos.  My friend just asked me to take a look at it first before deciding as you said, maybe i should.  For $200 dollars it sounds very tempting and i do LOVE 1 piece camera bodies without battery grip, like my Nikon F5, but the F5 view finder is HUGE.

I guess if i do like the S3 with a smaller view finder i could just use AF lenses, My Rokinon 1.4 will be too difficult to use, BUT if the view finder IS INDEED just as small as the Nikon D60 then FOR SURE i don't want it.

What are your thougths?
