D3200 as a backup to D600... or could it also be an option for 1.5x more reach outdoors??

get a D5200

the new Toshiba sensor seems to perform very well and the swivel LCD is a big plus, this will make a nice travel / complimentary camera to your D600. I own the D3200 but prefer my D5100 for the body, options, as well as the color rendition (exmor sony sensor). The D3200 offers excellent resolution and detail up to ISO 800(daylight + telezoom work during daylight) then, colors become quite muddy.
