The top ten list from nonpartision Legatum Institute.

9. Switzerland
10. Ireland

I had a hard time to find one on the list that is NOT a "socialist", "income redistribute", "tax and spending" and "godless" country according to out right wing friends. Perhaps those are not bad things after all.

Not so sure about "godless" -- considering that Ireland, for example, is strongly Roman Catholic and has some extreme laws due to that.  All of the rest are nominally 'Christian', as well, and have a large percentage of the population self-identifying as such.  Note that they do not have large numbers of 'fundamentalist' / extremist groups compared to the USA -- a distinction that is likely far more important than nominal theism.

Sweden has become noticeably more right-wing in the last couple of decades; as has Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

Compared to the USA, then yes, these are all far more progressive nations (even Ireland in most ways) -- but I would be careful of labelling them 'socialist'.
