Not exactly, no.  But you can note things like the color moire in the 5D which is an issue independant of any other image.

You can also note the DP-2M is really, really sharp all over (in fact it should probably be adjusted down a bit).  While these two images alone may not lead you to say with 100% certainty one camera is sharper than the other, you can look at the DP-2M image and say with certainty "that camera can produce an amazingly sharp image".

Also, a couple of quick shots taken without especial care in comparison can start to build a story around which is easier to produce good results from.  That can mean a lot more to people than more carefully controlled tests because it says "here is what an average user can expect".
