Re: New DSLR for Macro Photography?

My close-up lenses turned up earlier than I expected and I've done a quick and dirty test with them.

Using my X-E1 & 35mm prime (50mm equiv) focused to about 50cm (20") with a 4 dioptre c/u lens it covers an area abou 7.5 cm (3") wide. There's a bit of chromatic aberration visible towards the edges at a 100% view, but the central 70% or so is perfectly usable for technical records of circuit board faults and the like.

The 10 dioptre (strongest) lens gives a similar result with a 5cm wide field.

The set of lenses was about £8 from Amazon. Cheap enough to experiment with.

Once my Nikon-Fuji X adapter and extension tubes arrive I'll post a compariison.
