Is the 5D3 depth of field noticeably less than the 5D2?

To all:

The phenomenon is difficult to comprehend.  My 5D and 5D2 appeared to provide decent DOF, dependent upon aperture, etc.  After attempting to determine whether or not there were back/front focusing issues, I sent the camera and three lenses to Canon in Newport News, VA.  They indicated that "the sensor needed adjustments of an electrical nature".  Having used the camera since, it appears to me that the DOF, at the same f/8 aperture and same 24-70 f/2.8 lens, is shallower.

I realize that the above doesn't make sense, but adjustments to the sensor might have been done improperly, EVEN FROM CANON.  Thoughts?
