High end compact, or something bigger, what ever is to your taste. Currently I'm using an E-M5, and I think the level indicators have made it a bit easier to do panoramas. I haven't used the panorama mode, or done anything special, I've just relied on post-processing with Hugin to make the most of what I've taken.

E-M5 - Lake Marian, Fiordland, New Zealand - stitched panorama

E-PL3 - View from Mt Alfred, Glenorchy, New Zealand - stitched Panorama

E-M5 - single image - off track, north of Key Summit, Fiordland, New Zealand.

See my signature for a flickr link to other images including panoramas (mostly not with the E-M5 because I haven't owned it for very long).

great pictures!

The mt alfred pano is the kind of thing i am looking for.  Did you use a circular polariser?

Nz is great!   I nees  some extra vacation and a sponor :-).  Until then i have to focus on the alps and norway, and some sailing on the north sea delta...
