3880 black ink missing
We have always used Epson printers with their papers and inks. They produce beautiful prints. We have very low production as our business is photo restoration. Presently we have two epson 3880's. Four months ago one printed without black. We took it to an Epson authorized service. As we needed a second printer (one for matte and one for photo) we purchased another 3880.To make a long story short, we're still waiting for parts which are back ordered from Epson. In the meantime, our second printer developed the same problem. We purchased another 3880 with the 'broken' printer set aside.
Calls to Epson produced nothing but additional frustration. A post to their forum was rejected. It did not contain any rude or incorrect comments that should have met this fate. It's difficult to understand why it should take months to obtain parts for a printer that is being sold by the hundreds or thousands.
Can anyone offer any advice on this problem?
