Who mentioned macs? I know what RAID is and isn't.

Buy new 2TB drive, copy/CRC verify data from RAID across to it. Do this on the trusty old machine without faulty sata ports.  Should take about 3 hours on a good system for your 1.2TB of data.

While that's happening you can deactivate PS on that machine and reinstall programs on the new machine's SSD drive (you got an SSD right?)  be done way before the 3 hours are up and you can but the new data drive in. Once everything is tested you can always reset and reuse the old RAID drives in the new machine.

Getting a bad machine is unlucky but you seem to have made a meal of the rest of it.
