Getting best Dynamic Range with OMD.

You may want to search for 'ETTR' in this forum for some detailed discussions of the topic. I usually use the 'blinkies,' as already mentioned in this thread. I believe these are more effective than the histogram, but can't back that up with evidence.

If you don't want to use the blinkies, you'll have to experiment, but I believe Anders W, another forum regular with an OM-D, uses spot metering, meters on the brightest highlights in his scene, then dials in 1 EV of positive exposure compensation. You may need to experiment to find the right number here, but this is probably going to be more reliable than center-weighted metering.

Whichever way you go, you'll want to expose to the right where possible if you want to squeeze the most DR out of your RAW files. Here's a for instance I took a couple of weeks ago:
