With respect to the future of Sigma cameras, I find the recent DP3M model a little disturbing. If Sigma is going to bring out a series of non-interchangeable lens models such that a photographer's bag is full of DPs, who amongst us will buy into that strategy? What would the next one out be - a Fisheye?

Ted, Sigma talked about 3 cameras in the DP series from the time of first launch (DP1 in around March 2008). So the DP3Merrill may complete the series (?)

Thanks Sandy: as a relative newcomer to Sigma cameras I wasn't aware that the DP "series" was pre-determined to that extent.

Hmmmm ... the information about three cameras is quite old now. I think they can make a fourth without breaking any promises

A moderate wide angle. A short normal. And a short portrait lens with moderate macro capabilities. Hmmmmm ... yeah ... maybe. Have seen stranger combinations
