The High St.depends on the masses, the masses don't care about pixels, fps or any of the other stuff debated here to death.

Go to any event and a forest of arms are waving in the air videoing or shooting on their phones, the masses do not desire or see the need for a gadget that only takes pictures. Most don't print the snaps anymore, Facebook is the album now.

Nothing wrong with Jessops as a shop other than not enough people needed what they had to offer.

I don't see a lot of future for cameras outside of the enthusiastic hobby shooter.

My Sony RX100 came from Jessops, my Linhof 5x7 came from Ebay.
