This could be fantastic for photography and a big benefit to those of us that want nice glass at a reasonable price.  I don't mind paying $1000 or even a bit more for a lens, but $2000 for some glass just seems way off the mark, especially if folks like Sigma can do it cheaper.  And if Sigma can do it cheaper at a high level than the big boys can also do it cheaper also.
