The Nikon specification shows this lens as capable of covering a subject slightly more then 4 inches wide on FX, or about 2.7 inches wide on DX.

All the lenses of this type change their effective focal length in close focus; some call this effect "breathing"

Nikon's specification is what you get, including any focus breathing effect.
