For me, being a more critical viewer than you, it is too 'soft' for my taste. I can't tell if you mis-focused or you have sharpening turned down too low either in-camera or post-processing. The eye closest to the camera is slightly sharper leading me to believe that your image is badly front-focused. Something clearly went wrong.
Your image is not soft from high ISO because you shot with a D800. I know you shot at f/2. It is possible that your lens is soft at this aperture.
