Re: Can Sigma 35/1.4 also trouble the waters for Nikon 24/1.4?

24mm and 35mm are totally different in perspective IMO and the new sigma does not threaten the 24G in the least.    However if the Sigma is a good as rumored it certainly will dent 35/1.4G sales. I have the 24G, 28/1.8G, 35/1.4G and now have the Sigma 35 on backorder.   I'm definitely keeping the 24 and 28 (again different perspective) but will have to decided what to do with the 35G if the Sigma is that good.   The 24G is better than the 35G but the latter is still a very good lens.  It's tack sharp on my d800e by f/2.5 but could be better wider which is it's vulnerability.

Even if Sigma comes out with and excellent 24mm I think the 24G will be harder to knock-off in quality IMHO.   It'll have to compete mainly in price.
