The comparisons seem to show, if  you are willing to spend twice the money and have twice the weight and twice the size, then the Pany can produce some good results - even comparible to the canon.

I would still take  the canon even if the cost was the same, just for the convience of  having it in a compact package and zoom always available  in an instant. I am so often using the sx50 past 600mm, that the  Pany just  would  work for me.

If you take TC off Pany then there is no contest, the SX50 hoses all over it.

I bought the SX50 for super zoom, if I didnt want zoom then there are much better  options than the FZ200  or the SX50.
