Because of the different viewfinder magnifications DX apparent image size is only about 15% smaller than FX, with DX being about one stop brighter than FX - useful in low light.

Overall I prefer the DX viewfinder image.

Many problems turn out to be a lack of intimate knowledge of complex modern camera equipment.

I was referring to using an FX camera with a DX lens.
