The second one I don't like as much there is not the same intensity in the picture as you can't really see into his eyes and its just personal preference but when using dramatic lighting like this I prefer B&W

To be honest I also like the first one more. The second one I kept in color because with black and white I couldnt catch the "mood" of the moment. Maybe the second one would be better with more visibility to eyes.
