Re: Canon EF-S 17-55mm VS Sigma 17-50mm VS Tamron 17-50mm?

I don't know what the websites say. But I have seen numerous photos taken with 17-55mm by my colleague and definitely the corner sharpness is better. If someone is looking for a travel around lens for his/her Canon APS-C cameras I would not hesitate to recommend the following in that order or priority.

i) Canon 17-55mm

ii) Sigma 17-50mm

iii)Canon 15-85mm

IMHO both the 17-55mm and the sigma are a better choice compared when you consider IQ alone. The 15mm,the additional focal length from 70-85mm & excellent mechanics of the 15-85mm are worth considering. I went for the 15-85mm + 50mm f1.4 instead of the 17-55mm. Looking back, the sigma would have been a good choice as well.
