Correct, ... both of better pTTL Pentax flashes do support auto mode...

I know, I know... However I if my memory doesn;t plays tricks on me, Pentax top guns do not support communicating both aperture and ISO automatically with the camera in Auto mode. With Pentax 540 in Auto mode you are still required to do some manual configuration.

Metz 58-AF1 or 2 are fully automatic flash guns in that perspective.
