Re: Sigma 50-150 f2.8/Sigma 50-150 f2.8 OS/Tokina 50-135 f2.8?

One problem with Thoms review is that are 3 versions not 2.  There was a 50-150 II version but I never heard what the difference was other then the II is 10g heavier.

I have the II version and yes the 100-150 range was not to good, but I did a little testing and found it to be a focus shift back at that  100mm+.  I sent in to Sigma USA with a note explaining what I found.  On return the 100+ range is much better, not as good as under 100 but much better then it was.  It is not sharp at 100+ at less then 8' to MFD, but past 8" its very nice.

I have given a lot of thought to the new OS version but the size and wieght are a bit to much.  What I like most about the II version is the small size and low weight. I find the the II to be very sharp over all, its better then my 24-70 HSM which I do like a lot also.

The focus on both the 24-70 hsm and the 50-150 HSM II is very good, I never have worry about out of focus pics when I use them for a shoot.
