Canon 70-200 2.8 II vs 300 2.8 II or 400 2.8 II

Hi all,

I've recently upgraded my to a Canon 1DX, 70-200 2.8 II, 24-70 2.8 II and my most recent purchase the 85 1.2 II. I have to say I'm completely hooked to the 2.8 or faster lenses.

Although the 85 1.2II hasn't got the fastest AF (not bad on my 1DX) I just love the shots at 1.2. If you nail it, than the shot is just very special.

On the wide end I still have a "inferior" 17-40 f4 lens and I've been waiting quite a while now hoping for the announcement of the 14-24 which hasn't happened. I still need to decide if I go for the 16-35 II or the 14mm 2.8 prime lens. Has anyone compared these lenses? Any comments?

I have a question about the tele lenses. I really like my new 70-200 2.8 II and think it's much better than the 100-400 I sold. Partly because of the 2.8 which makes the background much more pleasing over the 100-400.

I would like to have something longer and am thinking about the 300 2.8II or 400 2.8 II. I have to say the 400mm is a bit above my budget though.

Has anyone compared the 70-200 2.8II which the 300 2.8 II and 400 2.8 II. How would you compare those lenses to each other in terms of sharpness, contrast, colours and AF speed?

I generally do like prime lenses since I want ultimate image quality. In addition I find that I get more creative moving around, making me think more and having better results in the end.

Appreciate your feedback.

Many thanks
