One possible option to get around this is set ISO to 200 and shoot only RAW. You should be able to push the exposure of the RAW up to the equivalent of ISO1600 and have the same results as shooting at ISO1600.

the same?

From ISO 6400 onwards (ISO 12800, 25600) that seems to be correct, but in the range of ISO 200-1600 it's better to take advantage of the increased analog gain in the higher ISOs (as long as the camera has enough DR for the scene at those ISOs). If you stick to ISO 200 you are limited to digital gain (assuming that the capture is underexposed). Setting ISO 400 or 800 might be more adequate, depending on the light and the DR. Some related threads: 1, 2.

For the last couple of years the latest Sony based sensors have been able to provide this.  Assuming the GH3 is based on the same sensor technology then it should be the same.
