SX50 - more wide for RAW shooters

The S90, 95 and G1X (prob S100/110 too) give a decent amount of extra wide angle when shot in RAW and developed in a converter which doesn`t do the Auto De-fish/crop/upsize trickery which DPP Does ......

I`ve been trying the SX50 files from Photogrtaphyblog and the 24mm wide end does even more of this than the 28`ers mentioned above.. you do have to de-fish (PT lens) and crop the black bits off the corners (usually resulting somewhere between the regular 4:3 and an SLR like 3:2 but the amount of extra wide is as stunning as the pixel level sharpness and DR control - you get what looks like about a 20-22mm Field of view .

have a look at the comparison I did, the JPG is first, the RAW second, note the extra stuff in the frame, the amazing bit is the sharpness at the corners is far less compromised than you`d imagine (less than the S90 even !!) .. 20-1200mm anyone ???????
