Why corrupt .CR2 file from 350D (NOT Lightroom caused).

Exactly. I did check the disk but it shows nothing unusual. I formatted it on the laptop and then on the camera. Then I wrote "bad?" on it and put it away. If I'm desperate for a disk I might use it, but unlikely.

I'd have tossed it, but I only bought a single new smaller disk. I'm planning to replace the camera in the spring.

Nearly 60,000 photos shot on this camera [not on, or thru that one disk]. I've worn out plenty of disks and also the rechargeable batteries since March of 2006. It's getting harder to find batteries and Flash cards in some of the remote places I travel. It's time for an upgrade and even the current Rebel T4i is a significant upgrade from Rebel XT-D350.
