The resolution increase, manual focus features and button re-position are not a compelling reason at all for me to trade and take a hit.

The low light performance increase may be marginal at best. If you look at their "simulated chart and images" the effect of the increase is only relevant from ISO 3200 upwards, but even so, by how much? there are no units or scale on the Y axis. For all intensive purposes, this "increase" may be academic, none of my critical work is beyond ISO3200.

Similarly, their "increased resolution" chart is vague, with no units on the resolution axis. In absolute terms this may be true, but in practice I'm not sure how effective this will be. I will wait for a side-by-side comparison.

The only thing that would tempt me would be if the overall operational speed will be markedly inproved, especially focus aquisition in low light/low contrast situations, this is my single biggest frustration. But even so, I'm not sure this would be worth $500 to upgrade; therefore based on current information, I would say NO.
