USB 3.0 Gigabit adapter performance
I'm looking for a laptop that is capable of editing D800 nef files. I use NX2 and CS6 mostly. Portability is key, so I'm focusing on Ultrabooks. 8gb memory. Prefer RJ45 gigabit port and full sized HDMI port (the mini HDMI ports seem too fragile). Would like a nice screen, but since I hook up a high quality monitor much of the time, this is not a key factor.
Looking over the current crop of Ultrabooks, the Sony Vaio T series is a contender. Has all the ports, memory, i7 processor, big SSD. The reviews haven't been kind to the display though.
My point about the USB 3.0 gigabit adapter is that if I hold out for a system with an RJ45 port, then this rules out Asus and several others. If, OTOH, USB 3.0 gigabit adapters perform well, then Asus would be back in the running.
