Re: consumers are buying smartphones and tablets

Very true. Reports coming out of CES seem to confirm that consumers are buying smartphones and tablets instead of desktops and laptops. This could kill MS if they fail to quickly grab a big share in the mobile market, and quite a few other companies too.

I just had a funny thought.

Me, I need a desktop machine with a keyboard to write long messages. To friends, or in forums like this.

I figured everybody is in that boat.

But maybe "normal people" are just typing 10 words, now and then, in Facebook, and uploading images to Facebook from their mobile phone. Pressing a "like" button, now and then. But other than that, they are living normal lives.

Maybe they don't really need a desktop machine, that much.
