With all due respect, what you said in your original post has nothing to do with marketing or all the "pro" stuff you bring up now to discourage the newbie from going pro or even thinking about it. What you said is, that you, a professional photographer, delay and postpone upgrading your computing equipment because it's such a hassle and "hidden cost." What I'm saying is that as a professional, you should also be considering the obvious cost of time and productivity loss arising from avoiding computer/IT upgrades which, as a professional, you should know you must do at regular intervals.
