Study up

I have the kit lens, but its slow to focus, sub-par in low light, you have to put an object 15-20 feet from a wall and put the camera right on the object to create bokeh.

Then you simply need to get a fast wide angle zoom or prime and study up a bit on the relationship of DOF to sensor size, aperture, and focal length. The Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 ATX Pro DX might be a solution. You're certainly not going to get what you describe with smaller than DX sensor. Good Luck

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)
