Re: 40mm f2.8 STM... why not?

Ok, here it is.  A couple of points:  1.  I have never done this before (:))  2. I used the 24-105L, the 40mm STM, and I threw in the 17-40L just as a "control".   3. the 40mm looks "wide" due to the fact that I did not measure from the front of the lens to the subject  4. 40mm is at 2.8, the rest at 4.0 (I assumed wide open for all was best)... if not I can reshoot with the 40mm at f4.0

Shot notes:  Live View, Tripod, Flash (430EX II).  I put the 24-105L on the camera, got it to 40mm, took the shot, then replaced the lens and reshot (for each lens).  Output to canon RAW.  Import to LR4 - export as .jpg with a 20MB file size limit.

No adjustments at all, other than converting from RAW to JPG, this is all "straight from the camera". No lens correction, no noise reduction - just the "naked truth"...
