If  you want a lens to cover what the 10-20 did, it's the Canon 16-35 f/2.8.  You'll find that ultra wide lenses for 35mm SLRs are much more expensive than digital lenses.  The Sigma 12-24 is a lower end lens, even their newer II version.  And you'd find that 12-24mm isn't much of a range since you had 16-35 before.
