Horrendous overexposure with 450D and Sigma lens

Hi all,

I've noticed my old 10D with Sigma 18-250mm OS lens producing horrendously overexposed pictures at times. Not just a tiny bit, but around 3-4 stops overexposed. I put it down to the fact that my 10D was 9 years old and had taken over 70,000 photos.

Now I shoot with a 450D, and I am starting to notice the same thing and this is becoming more and more regular now.

Here's an example.

450D + 18-250mm at ISO11, f11, -0.3 exposure

This is what happens when I dial in a -2 exposure compensation

And when I switch lenses to the 18-55mm bundle lens..

Obviously the problem is with the Sigma lens, but do any of you have any suggestions other than sending it in for repair?

Thanks in advance
