Rol Lei Nut,

The PX13 (or equivalent) was a very commonly used mercury battery. The last time I looked, which was a few years ago, there was no satisfactory drop in replacement for a single PX13 that provided a stable 1.35 volts for a reasonable length of time. Has something new become available?

I have lots of old gear that use this battery

John

Wein cells work thogh they are fairly expensive and relitivly short lived. There are also drop in holders for smaller modern batteries which have built in circuitry to correct the voltage. For many applications you can simply just use a #9 Rubber O-ring in the battery chamber and then cheap 675 hearing aid batteries which are easily available will fit.

I picked up a bunch of brand new PX13 mercury batteries in India a few years ago - they may still be available there.
