Thanks Erik.  I don't think your "Widest A Mode" would have a problem with overexposure very often in moderate light, and even if the overeposure message did appear you could always then just switch to another mode.

I haven't really looked into the question of the interaction with ISO setting, as my shots have mostly been with ISO set at 100.  I'm wondering what happens when iISO is used instead of setting 100 ISO.  The advantage of iISO is that it can give intermediate ISO values such as 160 ISO, which could be quite acceptable and useful in low light.  I will try to have a go at that.
