There is no indication that this lens will be released for Sony, only Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts are listed on Sigma's site. I have the non-OS 50-150 and like it a lot due to its smaller size and weight (same as the 70-300 G) compared to the 70-200 f/2.8 zooms. The new OS version as large and heavy as some 70-200mm FF lenses, actually heavier than the Tamron 70-200, one might as well get an FF 70-200 f/2.8 instead (or look for a used 50-150 HSM II).

I have the old version too (non OS), and I agree with you but I have 3 things to add :

1) the old version cost something like 400-450E : the new one cost more than 1100E (quite 3 times more)

2) the main problem with the old version is the AF : it is really slow. I did a comparison with the old minolta 28-105: with my A33 the 50-150 is between 2 and 3 times slower than the MIN 28-105. That's a big problem, because if you try to take fast picture there are not sharp because of the AF and the stabilisation, but if you wait a bit the result is really better.

3) the other problem that affect sharpness with this lens (at least the old version) is the front focus. Many copies are affected by a big front focus. It's a big problem with Sigma lens. So if your camera can do micro AF adjustement it's OK, else you may have problems.

Anyway I would not buy the new one for 1200E as it is not even a FF lens.
