The JPG's are actually pretty good I think. It's just that they don't have the same level of DR. In terms of sharpness they are good enough to judge images by.
I think they are usable especially if your just playing around getting used to the camera but for most shooting I also prefer to shoot straight in RAW format. Looking forward to tomorrow and getting outside during the day to use it instead of at night inside. Kind of hard to get above 60 on the shutter speed so getting some blur even with tripod as the shutter button is new and most likely getting a little vibration.
