Question about dpreview's D800 review

They say "We've spent an inordinate amount of time in the preparation of this review getting things just so in order to reap what we feel the D800 is capable of producing".

What does dpreview mean? A sturdy tripod is mandatory? Only top glass will do? Or what?

I cannot imagine it took an "inordinate amount of time" to realize a tripod is needed if that is what they meant.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

Regards, Eduardo.
