... I like to suggest you read a response I wrote to someone who asked similar questions about Costa Rica here . While I am no expert, I've learned a few things from my two lengthy visits there. Keep in mind that a lot of the wildlife you will want to shoot is not going to be in bright sunlight. They're more comfortable and feel better protected from predators hiding in the forest which, even on a sunny day, can be very dark, given the thickness of the tree canopies. I would encourage you to bring a tripod so that you can deal with low light situations. Go practice shooting in cloudy conditions in a forest to get some kind of idea what you might have to deal with. Pura Vida.
