How to Photograph horses by Stuart Newsham. J A Allen

It has great tips and I have used it a lot over the years.

Especially regarding light and position as if you arn't in the right spot, then you don't get that defined muscle look. You just get a blob. Also timing is the key so that the leg placement in the phase of the movement looks right and not like the horse is some weird 3 legged thing or only taking strides a foot long.

YES I am a horse person and do photograph horses.

Good Luck.

Interesting. You're a horse person? Do you play a flute like Pan?
