Thank you for posting this.  I've never printed a clear nozzle check with my Epson 9600 and I think humidity my be the problem.

To clarify, whenever the humidity in your area goes below 50% you take proactive measures to control the moisture around your machine?

I live in an area with 20-30% humidity annually.  This may be obvious to most, but completely new to me...I need to make the area where the printer is stored more humid?

I will begin with a humidifier and a humidity meter.  Any other recommendations?
